All PHX-bearing edges are trimmed at 30 degrees. The radius of the top of each bearing edge distinguishes each type of shell - whether a tom, floor tom, or bass drum. These radiuses are where the drum head comes into contact with the shell's wood, and the radius's size determines how much vibration passes from the head to the shell.
